Universal Syriac Union Party delegation in Zahle participates in commemoration of city’s martyrs and Lebanese Arak Day

ZAHLE, Lebanon — Rabih Azouki, Coordinator of the Universal Syriac Union Party (USUP) in Zahle, Lebanon, led a delegation from the party’s local coordination to attend a memorial Mass for the souls of the city’s martyrs at the invitation of the Zahle Gathering.

The Mass was held at St. Elias Church in Tawk in the presence of several local officials and community figures. Prayers were offered in honor of those who lost their lives defending the city and in remembrance of their sacrifices throughout Zahle’s history.

Following the service, the delegation joined a procession to the Martyrs’ Forest, where additional prayers were held and wreaths were laid at the martyrs’ memorial. The USUP Zahle delegation also placed a floral wreath in tribute to the fallen.

The delegation later participated in the Lebanese Arak Day celebrations, which brought together residents and local dignitaries to celebrate Zahle’s cultural and social heritage while strengthening community engagement.

The activities formed part of the USUP’s continued participation in social and national events in Zahle, reaffirming the party’s commitment to commemorating occasions that unite the city’s residents around their shared history and collective memory.
