Leesburg (Va.) Loudoun Sports Academy four-star wide receiver Cam Wade has committed to Virginia Tech, according to Rivals’ Pete Nakos.

Wade chose the Hokies over Maryland and Florida State. He took his official visit to Blacksburg this weekend.

He is the No. 361 overall prospect and No. 51 WR in the 2027 cycle, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 8 recruit in Virginia.

James Franklin and the new-look VT staff are rolling on the recruiting trail this summer and they’ve now added another coveted playmaker to the fold. Wade returned to VT this weekend and is now set to stay in the Old Dominion at the next level. He had previously set a July 1 commitment date but isn’t opting to waste any more time with his decision.

“They just started pushing hard. Once I moved to Virginia, things really changed. We feel like it’s a perfect fit, so I can’t wait to get there on my visit,” Wade told Rivals’ Chad Simmons earlier this month.

Wade becomes commit No. 20 for the ACC program, adding to a haul that now ranks 20th in the Rivals Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

It’s a tremendous haul for the Hokies, who are now looking to re-insert themselves into the forefront of the ACC picture under Franklin. They are already recruiting like a top program.

Wade is now the sixth industry four-star to choose VT thus far. He’s also the third receiver to join the class, alongside Rolesville (N.C.) Rivals four-star Anthony Roberts and Roanoke (Va.) North Cross three-star Demarcus Brown.

The biggest commitment of the Franklin era came on May 14 as Hingham (Mass.) Tabor Academy four-star quarterback Peter Bourque chose the Hokies over Georgia. He’s now the No. 82 recruit and No. 7 QB in the nation.

Columbus (Ohio) St. Francis DeSales four-star tight end Jordan Karhoff was another huge win on the offensive side of the ball last month. Previously a Miami lean, the No. 8 TE in the cycle chose VT on May 26.

Other top commits in the class include: Baltimore McDonogh four-star defensive lineman Joseph Buchanan, Swainsboro (Ga.) Emanuel County four-star cornerback Chase Johnson, Arlington (Texas) Martin four-star running back JP Jones-Priest, Richmond (Va.) Benedictine Rivals four-star TE Sam Faniel and Watertown (Tenn.) Friendship Christian three-star interior offensive lineman Kaden Buchanan.
