The NFL's global takeover has completely changed the game. What began as a simple, one-off game in Mexico City has become a fixture on the annual schedule, bringing real regular-season football to fans around the world since 2007.

By the end of the 2025 season, the league had staged 62 games overseas, packing stadiums in places like London, Mexico City, Munich, Frankfurt, Berlin, Sao Paulo, Dublin and Madrid. Now, 2026 is pushing things even further, rolling out a record-setting nine international games, beginning on Thursday, Sept. 10, when the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers square off in Melbourne, Australia. The second game of the NFL season begins at 8:35 p.m. ET on Netflix.
