Alabama State football vs Troy predictions, what to watch

Alabama State football (2-0) has an opportunity to make history when it faces Troy (1-0) at Veterans Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 12 (3 p.m. CT, ESPN+). The Hornets have never beaten an FBS school, and the last time a SWAC school beat an FBS opponent was in 1985.

It's why Alabama State coach Eddie Robinson Jr. believes that the Hornets are playing for more than themselves when they take on the Trojans. Robinson believes it's an opportunity for Alabama State to represent HBCU football and represent the conference by being competitive against an FBS school.
