Albuquerque-based fighter Gable Steveson wins his UFC debut

As was expected, Albuquerque-based MMA fighter Gable Steveson made a successful UFC debut Saturday with a victory by first-round TKO over Seattle's Elisha Ellison at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Steveson, who trains at Jackson-Wink and with former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Jon Jones, ended it with kicks and punches at 2 minutes, 31 seconds of the first. The Olympic wrestling gold medalist is now 4-0 in MMA competition. Ellison is 5-3.
