Andreas Christensen signs new Barcelona contract until 2028

Barcelona have confirmed that Andreas Christensen has signed a new contract with the club that runs until 2028.

The Denmark international has taken a hefty pay-cut to stay on at the club but will now continue despite another injury-interrupted campaign at Camp Nouin 2025-26.

Here’s the club’s official statement:

“FC Barcelona and Andreas Christensen have reached an agreement for the extension of the Danish defender’s contract, keeping him at the Club until 30 June 2028. The centre back adds another two seasons to his deal and the Club and the player will make the agreement official in the near future at the Club offices.”

Christensen will be hoping he can stay injury-free at Barcelona next season and enjoy some regular game time. He adds to Hansi Flick’s center-back options that also include Pau Cubarsi, Gerard Martin, Eric Garcia and Ronald Araujo.
