Arizona Diamondbacks to promote first baseman Tyler Locklear
The Diamondbacks are promoting first baseman Tyler Locklear to the majors, a source said on Thursday, July 16.
Locklear, 25, has been on a tear with Triple-A Reno, where he has homered five times in his past six games. He owns a .313/.394/.502 line with eight homers in Reno in 211 at-bats this season.

He needed to have his left ulnar collateral ligament and his left labrum repaired after an errant throw drew him into the path of the Boston Red Sox’s Connor Wong.
