Atlético academy given talk on racism

Atlético's youth academy welcomed Professor João Saraiva on Thursday afternoon (3), a PhD candidate in Race, Leadership, and Political Science at UFMG, who gave the lecture "Far Beyond Football." The initiative, organized by the academy's Player Care department, brought players from the U-13 to the U-17 teams to the auditorium.

During the lecture, the professor raised issues of racial self-identification, Atlético's Black idols, and the responsibility athletes take on when speaking about racism throughout their careers.
