The first of three international additions for coach Danny Sprinkle and the Washington Huskies became visible this past week.

Tristan Devers, a 6-foot-3 guard from Australia who recently turned 21 years old and played for the Brisbane Bullets in the National Basketball League (NBL), began practicing and training with the team ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Between his first and second seasons with the Bullets, Devers increased his impact and efficiency while working his way into the rotation in 2025-26. The Melbourne, Australia native averaged 4.9 points and shot 34 percent from three-point range over 29 games this past season, logging 16 minutes per game with the expectation that he would return to the Bullets for another season in 2026-27.

However, he opted to leave The Outback and play for Sprinkle and the Huskies this coming season.

Devers joins junior returning guard Wesley Yates III and incoming transfers Parker Friedrichsen (Davidson), Steele Venters (Gonzaga), and Ryan Beasley (San Francisco) in the backcourt for Sprinkle in 2026-27, giving the third-year UW coach his most experienced set of guards in his time in Seattle.

Despite his marginal scoring average last season, Devers produced multiple games that showed he can play at the Power Four level, including a season-high 15-point outing against Perth that saw the Australian shoot 50 percent (3-of-6) from inside the three-point line and a pair of shots from behind the arc.

"Tristan demonstrated that he will be able to impact the game at an NBL level, and we are excited for him to continue his journey with us," Brisbane Bullets Hostplus Head Coach Justin Schueller said in June 2025.

"He has earned this opportunity through his daily habits and the way he competed day in, day out last year. He has previously shown on the world stage how he can hold his own in his age group against the best, and we now expect him to do similar as he challenges our squad daily and helps impact winning for us.”

Devers is expected to compete with Beasley for UW's starting point guard spot, though he can also play as a two-guard next to Beasley and split time with Yates III and Friedrichsen. The other two reported international signings this offseason, Brazilian forward Wini Silva and Croatian big man Boris Tisma, have not yet appeared in any video or still photos posted by Washington's social media accounts.
