We haven’t as a group won through junior high and high school too, we’ve never won a regional. So it’s a pretty special feeling to finally get one. It’s sweeter for sure. I mean, I remember getting knocked out on this field two years ago, sophomore year, so it feels good to finally get one.
We’ve all dreamed of this moment. Sophomore year, we didn’t get it done. Junior year, we didn’t get done. We finally got done senior year and it means more.
Metamora won their first baseball regional in 11 years with a 9-1 victory over Ottawa. They will face East Peoria in the sectional semifinals.
Other regional championship winners included: Normal Community, U-High, Tremont, Brimfield-Elmwood, Lexington, and Abingdon-Avon.
