Baseball: Rhode Island RHP transfer Manny Santos commits to TCU
TCU baseball has gained a commitment from talented Rhode Island sophomore right-hander Manny Santos, who recently visited the Horned Frogs. Santos played two seasons for the Anchormen, throwing 45.1 innings over 38 career relief appearances. The 5-foot-10, 185-pounder from Amsterdam, New York struck out 63 batters with 44 walks and finished with a 2-2 record and 8.74 ERA for his career. Opposing batters hit .208 against him in 2026, when he registered a career-best 5.27 ERA on 41 strikeouts and 24 walks.
Santos made major strides from his freshman season, when he threw 17 innings, but finished with a 14.00 ERA and 19 walks on 22 strikeouts. Santos, who has two years of eligibility remaining, has an arsenal that includes a fastball ranging from 92-94 MPH and topping out at 95 MPH. Santos also wields a slider between 80-83 MPH and a changeup sitting between 86-88 MPH.
