Bears Offensive Linemen Put in Work Ahead of Holiday Weekend
Nicholas MoreanoFri, Jul 3, 2026·3 min readWith NFL training camps set to begin towards the end of the month, there is still time before NFL football returns on a consistent basis.
When professional athletes are spotted working out, it's honestly the biggest "news" during this slow time period. Members of the Chicago Bears' offensive line were posted on social media doing just that before the holiday weekend.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFormer five-time Pro Bowl left tackle Terron Armstead posted on his X account some photos of him working with NFL offensive linemen. Some of the players spotted were Bears offensive tackles Darnell Wright, Kiran Amegadjie and Theo Benedet.
Armstead has also worked with left tackle Braxton Jones this offseason.
It's not uncommon for players to get together during the summer to work on their craft. What does matter is that Armstead was coached by Bears offensive line coach Dan Roushar for five seasons while the two were with the New Orleans Saints. During that time, Armstead made three Pro Bowls and was named a second-team All-Pro in 2018.

For those wondering about Jedrick Wills, he posted on Instagram the day before Armstead, celebrating his marriage in Italy.
Ozzy Trapilo, the Bears' second-round draft pick in 2025, was also spotted working out at the Boston College football weight room. In the Bears' wild-card win over the Green Bay Packers, Trapilo injured his patellar tendon in his left knee, ending his season.
General manager Ryan Poles said during the NFL Scouting Combine that he will "miss most of the year" because of the injury. Based on the Instagram post, Trapilo is not wearing any type of knee brace. However, he was doing upper body exercises, including sitting dumbbell shoulder presses, barbell bench press and landmine shoulder press.

Coach Ben Johnson has made it clear no jobs could be won during the spring time, but that will all change this summer. Members of the Bears' offensive line are getting some additional work in before actually football training begins.
Someone needs to separate themselves in the left tackle competition and at swing tackle, so training camp will be the real proving ground. The offseason work sets the foundation, but whoever consistently performs when the pads come on at Halas Hall will earn themselves starting roles on Johnson's team.
