Beth Nahrain Progressive Youth celebrates first anniversary in Nohadra (Duhok)

NOHADRA (DUHOK), Iraq ─ Beth Nahrain Progressive Youth celebrated the first anniversary of its founding on Friday, 11 September 2026, in the Iraqi city of Nohadra (Duhok), with the participation and attendance of members and officials of the youth organization from Nohadra, Arba’ilo (Erbil) and Baghdede.

The event opened with the reading of the organization’s statement marking its first anniversary, which reviewed the significance of the occasion and its work during its first year. This was followed by the cutting of the first-anniversary cake.

The celebration concluded with traditional folk dances, amid an atmosphere of joy, enthusiasm and interaction among the participants. The occasion provided a space to strengthen the collective spirit, boost youth morale and continue the organization’s path of work and service.

The celebration was held as part of commemorating this important milestone in the organization’s history and renewing its commitment to continuing youth work and strengthening its presence among young people in different areas. It also sought to strengthen relationships and bonds among members of the youth organization and create shared spaces reflecting a sense of belonging and collective work.

The Beth Nahrain Progressive Youth had previously issued a statement marking its first anniversary, saying that its work over the past year had focused on building a politically and socially conscious generation of young people capable of playing an active role in national and civic affairs.

The organization explained that it was founded not only as a youth association, but as a broader initiative aimed at preparing young cadres through education, dialogue, collective work and organizational experience.

During its first year, Beth Nahrain Progressive Youth said it had expanded its presence, strengthened ties among young people, and provided spaces for discussion and for promoting cultural and political awareness. It emphasized that the future of any cause depends on its ability to prepare a new generation to carry its mission forward with awareness and commitment.

It described its first anniversary as the beginning of a new phase rather than an endpoint, pledging to expand its organizational and field activities while focusing on serving the community and defending its identity, rights and future.

The statement also thanked the young people and supporters who contributed their time and efforts during the organization’s first year, describing its achievements as the result of collective work and shared responsibility.
