Brent Venables explains what made Michigan defense so difficult

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Not many expected Michigan football to win on Saturday with No. 10 Oklahoma in town. And even though Sooners coach Brent Venables said all the right things during the week about the Wolverines being better than they showed in Week 1, he learned how right he was the hard way on Saturday. Michigan beat OU, 17-10.

It was a defensive slugfest filled with penalties on both sides. But the Michigan defense, in particular, was stellar against John Mateer and the Oklahoma offense.
