Bucks Sign Former Pacers Guard to Two-Way Contract

There's already been plenty of moves made in Milwaukee so far this offseason and looking at their roster as far as starters and a main bench core goes, there aren't many more changes the Milwaukee Bucks may need to make.

Of course, there's still a question of upgrading their strength at the power forward spot and they have been linked to free agent Jonathan Kuminga, but they'll be facing some stiff competition in those negotiations considering that the Los Angeles Lakers have also been heavily attached to the former Hawks forward.

Beyond that though, the Bucks have a mostly complete young team that they can focus on developing for the next few seasons and when it comes to any other moves they could make in free agency, the goal has seemed to be to acquire even more young talent that may be a few seasons out from true impact, but still add even more youth and depth to the roster.

Jones Joins the Bucks

That's exactly the category that the Bucks' most recent move fits into as Michael Scotto of HoopsHype recently reported that the Bucks have signed former Indiana Pacers forward Kam Jones to a two-way contract.

Jones was drafted by the Pacers 38th-overall in the 2025 NBA Draft and split time between the G-League and NBA this season. In 37 games at the NBA level, seven of which he started, Jones averaged 4.4 points, 1.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 16.6 minutes per game while shooting 40.2% from the field.

The Pacers traded Jones to the Chicago Bulls during the 2026 draft for the rights to Braden Smith, but he Bulls waived Jones soon after, leaving him available for Milwaukee to pick up.

Where He Can Improve

His three point shooting leaves a lot to be desired, but Jones is still just 24-years-old and standing at 6'4 and 200 pounds, his size and athleticism present some optimistic tools for him to develop into a valuable player for the Bucks.

Plus, having athleticism like Jones' available to them is great for a Bucks team that became accustomed to being a physical threat with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the roster, but will obviously have to find a new way to add size to the court.

He'll likely start next season in the G-League barring a seriously impressive offseason, but just having another young asset available to them is a big plus for a Bucks team that is looking to reshape their identity and enter a new era.
