BYU Basketball released its 14-game non-conference schedule Monday morning. BYU plays two exhibition games and opens the regular season Monday, November 2 vs Ohio State in the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. BYU will play 18 Big 12 games.

Below is the full state of games. The exhibition games do not count against the regular season record.

• 10/16 – vs Nebraska in Provo (exhibition)

• 10/24 – at UNLV in Las Vegas (exhibition)

• 11/2 – vs Ohio State in SLC

• 11/6 – vs Omaha in Provo

• 11/10 – vs Queens in Provo

• 11/12- vs Montana State in Provo

• 11/18 – vs Northern Colorado in Provo

• 11/23-11/25 – 3 games in Maui Invitational; Field includes Arizona, Washington, VCU, Providence, Ole Miss, Colorado State, Clemson

• 12/5 – vs Northwestern in SLC

• 12/9 – vs Utah State in Provo

• 12/12 – vs Cal State Fullerton in Provo

• 12/15 – vs Weber State in Provo

• 12/19 – vs San Diego State in Palm Springs

• 12/22 – vs La Salle in Provo

BYU’s schedule shapes up to have 7 Quad 1/Quad 2 games and 7 Quad 3/Quad 4 games. The expected Q1/Q2 games are Ohio State, 3 games in Maui Invitational, Northwestern, Utah State, and San Diego State. If BYU plays Arizona in the Maui Invitational, then BYU would play the Wildcats three times in the regular season. BYU doesn’t have a UConn on the non-conference slate like they did last year, unless the Cougs draw Arizona in Maui. Ohio State could be a preseason top 25 team; ESPN’s way-too-early top 25 rankings have the Buckeyes at #16.

Overall, a solid slate but isn’t very aggressive. BYU didn’t schedule many Quad 1A type games that would really move the needle, but there is enough opportunities to pick up quality wins that will resonate on the resume if BYU can get wins in those seven Q1/Q2 matchups.
