Caitlin Clark injury update: Status in Wednesday Indiana Fever practice
As the Indiana Fever held their second of four practice days this week on Wednesday morning during their Commissioner's Cup break, Fever coach Stephanie White provided another injury update on star Caitlin Clark.
Clark, who is recovering from a back injury sustained on June 24, did not practice with the team for a second straight day. Coach White revealed Clark took part in an individual workout with the Fever's player development coaches, medical staff and sports performance staff on Wednesday.

White said it's still too early to know about Clark's status for the Fever's game on Sunday (July 5) at the Las Vegas Aces. Clark missed her second game of the 2026 season due to injury last Saturday as the Fever topped the Los Angeles Sparks, 111-87.
"I think every day is a little bit better. Again, I reiterate for those who haven't had back issues, every day it can be something different. You can feel really good in practices or workouts or warmups or whatever, and then you go to bed at night and you wake up and it's different. Or if you're sitting home and you're watching something on television, if you're watching the game or whatever else, you can wake up and it's different. The back is a nagging thing that manifests itself in different ways," White said.

"I don't think it's a new thing. I think it's a reaggravation. Again, when you have a back (injury), it's like every day is different," White said.
Clark is averaging 21.2 points, 8.2 assists and 4.0 rebounds per game on 43% field goal shooting, 34.4% 3-point shooting and 85.4% free-throw accuracy.
