Celtics rookie showcases stunning development in Hornets win

LAS VEGAS — Dillon Mitchell fell to the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft largely because of his jump shot.

The wing out of St. John's hit just one 3-point attempt his entire senior season (1-of-15) and couldn't crack 50 percent at the free throw line. Still, that didn't deter the Celtics from drafting Mitchell with the No. 40 overall pick thanks to his well-rounded skillset.
