Charlotte Bobcats jersey history No. 2 DeSagana Diop 2008-2013

In a deal that sent Ryan Hollins and Matt Carroll to the Dallas Mavericks, the Charlotte Bobcats acquired 7'0" center DeSagana Diop. Diop, a former No. 8 overall pick in the 2001 NBA Draft, spent four and a half seasons in Charlotte, wearing the No. 7 and the No. 2 throughout his tenure.

While Diop's numbers never jumped off the page, he was viewed as a solid shot-blocker, averaging 1.8 rejections per game during the 2005-06 season. During his time with the Bobcats, Diop averaged 1.6 points, three rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.7 blocks. The Senegalese center played 12 NBA seasons, amassing over 600 career appearances. In addition to Charlotte, Diop also played for the Cavaliers, Mavericks and Nets.
