Charlotte Hornets jersey history No. 2 James Bouknight 2021-2024

A former No. 11 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, expectations were high for James Bouknight after two seasons at UConn. During his sophomore season with the Huskies, Bouknight led the team in scoring, averaging 18.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.3 blocks. Unfortunately for the Charlotte Hornets, his NBA career didn't pan out quite as well.

Bouknight played in 79 games for the Hornets over three seasons (wearing the No. 2 and No. 5), failing to find his footing at the NBA level. In those contests, Bouknight averaged 4.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.3 steals. Currently 26 years of age, the 6'4" shooting guard hasn't played in the NBA since the 2023-24 season. However, he did post impressive numbers in the G-League last season, averaging 20.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.5 blocks on 44.3% shooting from 3-point range with the Mexico City Capitanes.
