Today in baseball history, in 1930 – In the first of two in a doubleheader sweep over the Braves, Chuck Klein hits safely in his 26th consecutive game, the second time this season he has run a streak to this length. He will hit safely in 135 of his team's 156 games this season. Klein, who hit .434 in the stretch, is stopped in the second game of the doubleheader, and other stories as well.
