A series of recent social media teasers fueled widespread speculation that Sirens would be the team name before it was announced.

Over the past several days, the franchise shared cryptic, water-themed videos and messages. On Monday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Monsters and Cleveland Charge joined the campaign by posting their own teaser videos featuring water imagery and encouraging fans to tune in for the announcement.
Additional clues appeared across Northeast Ohio before the reveal, including a sand sculpture at Edgewater Park featuring the phrase "Hear the Call" with Lake Erie in the background.
The speculation was also fueled by reports that the franchise filed trademark applications for several potential team names, including "Sirens."
Tuesday, they made it official during a press conference at Rocket Arena. Check out some of the logos that were unveiled below.

In Greek mythology, sirens are creatures whose voices lured sailors toward dangerous shores. Many fans have suggested the name would connect Cleveland's identity on the shores of Lake Erie with its music heritage, including the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
