Commanders LB Leo Chenal posts heartfelt message after neck surgery

The Washington Commanders won their first game of the 2026 season on Sunday with a shocking 33-31 upset over the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. But at one point, the outcome felt secondary.

In the first half of Sunday's game, linebacker Leo Chenal tackled Seahawks running back Emanuel Wilson. After the play, Chenal was on the ground. Washington's medical team quickly came to Chenal's aid, and he remained on the ground for several minutes before being carted off. The Commanders' entire team surrounded him.
