Commanders sign former Raiders edge rusher to practice squad

The Washington Commanders headed off to London on Tuesday evening for their Week 4 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Before leaving Virginia, general manager Adam Peters was busy again, first officially signing veteran running back Austin Ekeler.

Head coach Dan Quinn spoke about Washington re-signing Ekeler on Monday. The Commanders made it official. In a corresponding move, they placed linebacker Leo Chenal on injured reserve. Chenal suffered a fractured bone in his neck in Sunday's upset win over the Seahawks. He underwent season-ending surgery on Monday.
