Coventry Complete Onyeka Move After Promotion Success

Coventry have secured the services of Nigeria international Frank Onyeka after his impressive spell under Frank Lampard helped deliver the Championship title and a long awaited return to the Premier League after 25 years.

The midfielder quickly became an influential figure following his loan arrival in February, adding energy, discipline and valuable experience to Lampard’s side during a memorable promotion campaign.

Onyeka leaves after making 87 appearances for Brentford across all competitions, bringing an end to a productive five year spell in west London.

Director of football Phil Giles paid tribute to the midfielder, saying: “Frank has always shown fantastic commitment, work rate and loyalty.”

Coventry supporters will hope those qualities continue to define Onyeka’s performances as Lampard prepares his side for the challenge of Premier League football.
