Cornielle crowned Pitcher of the Month for MiLB

MOOSIC, PA(WBRE/WYOU)— Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starting pitcher Alexander Cornielle was named the MiLB International League Pitcher of the Month for August. The RailRiders righty grabbed the award after posting a league best 1.50 ERA for the month.

Cornielle appeared in five games during the month of August. In 24.0 innings pitched, Cornielle only allowed four earned runs, while striking out 25 opposing batters. His month was highlighted by a scoreless eight inning outing against the Worcester Red Sox. His efforts in that appearance earned Cornielle the league Pitcher of the Week honors.
