Crosscutters bounce back against IronBirds, win 6-1
Joe GarrisonFri, Jul 10, 2026·1 min readWILLIAMSPORT, PA (WBRE/WYOU) — The Williamsport Crosscutter got out to an early lead Thursday night and never looked back. Williamsport a winner 6-1 over the Aberdeen IronBirds.
Chris Stanfield led the offense for the Crosscutters. The leftfielder went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two walks. Shortstop Brodey Acres continued his electric season. Acres once again with multiple hits, finishing the night 2-for-5 with 2 RBI.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNEPA native Nick Barone also drove in a run on Thursday night. The Williamsport DH started the scoring in the first inning with a sacrifice scoring Stanfield.
Ryker Walton recorded his first win of the MLB Draft League season. Walton pitched 5.0 innings, allowing just three hits and one earned run. The righty finished the night with five strikeouts, and a 1.80 ERA.
The Crosscutters improve to 21-8 on the season, and 1-1 for the second half. Williamsport will face the Trenton Thunder next. The Thunder finished second in the first half, two games behind Williamsport.
First pitch between the Crosscutters and Trenton at Bowman Field, is at 6:35pm on Friday, July 10th.
