Noah Boler-Kyle, a Decatur Heritage Christian Academy graduate who went on to a standout basketball career at Lee University in Tennessee, has died.

Boler-Kyle died Friday after suffering a serious medical event that led to his hospitalization at UAB Hospital, according to family members who shared the news in recent days.

Lee University's athletic department addressed his death in a message posted to X on Saturday.

"It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of former Men's Basketball Player Noah Boler-Kyle," the post read. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those who knew and loved Noah. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. — Psalm 34:18"

A 6-foot-9 forward, Boler-Kyle spent five years with the Flames' men's basketball program, earning his bachelor's degree before returning for a season as a graduate student. During the 2024-25 season, he appeared in 27 games, averaging 9.8 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 59.1% from the field.

Boler-Kyle starred at Decatur Heritage Christian Academy before beginning his college career, and his hometown was listed as Decatur throughout his time with the Flames.

He helped Decatur Heritage Christian Academy win its first-ever AHSAA Class 1A boys' basketball championship in 2019.

Funeral arrangements had not been announced as of Saturday.
