The Diamondbacks conclude a seven-game homestand on Sunday, June 7, with right-hander Michael Soroka looking for his eighth win of the season facing the Washington Nationals.

Soroka leads the Diamondbacks in wins so far this season.

The Diamondbacks get Monday, June 8, off and then start a six-game road trip with three games in Miami from June 9-11 and three in Cincinnati from June 12-14.

The Marlins were five games under .500 on Wednesday, June 3, but only 4½ games out of first place in the National League East. They aren't expected to be postseason contenders, but infielders Otto Lopez and Xavier Edwards were both hitting well above .300 midweek.

Catcher Liam Hicks has provided power with double digits in home runs.

The Diamondbacks and Marlins split the six games against each other in 2025.

The Reds are staying competitive in the hotly-contested National League Central, where all five teams were above .500 on June 3. But they were well back of the sizzling Milwaukee Brewers.

Star shortstop Elly De La Cruz is the top hitter for the Reds, leading the team in several categories including home runs. But De La Cruz went on the 10-day injured list with a hamstring problem on June 1, and might not be ready to face the Diamondbacks.

Cincinnati was where Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno suffered a hand injury and lost a lot of time last season, and also where top prospect Cristian Mena, a pitcher, suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.
