The summer of CJ Carr continues.

The Notre Dame quarterback participated in the Manning Passing Academy over this weekend and the consensus seemed to be that he had an outstanding performance.

The 2026 Manning Passing Academy was billed as a who's-who of quarterbacks in the country. Carr would be going up against the likes of Archie Manning (Texas), Julian Sayin (Ohio State) and a host of others for the attention of scouts and analysts. One of those analysts, NFL Draft expert Todd McShay, was extremely impressed by Carr's performance over the weekend.

When McShay was asked on his show, "The McShay Show" who the MVP was, he did not hesitate with his answer. "CJ Carr. Notre Dame. Not even close." He raved about Carr's throwing session, citing not just velocity but how he seemed to be performing at a different level than even the other Heisman candidates he was competing with.

Of course, Manning Passing Academy MVP trophies do not matter in the Gug. It's National Championship trophies that do. Notre Dame is coming into the upcoming season with high expectations and it will be Carr's performance during then that will ultimately be remembered in South Bend.

But for Notre Dame fans, when a noted expert like Todd McShay has such positive feedback on what he saw from their quarterback in a setting that all the best players in the country competed in, the confidence in their signal-caller is justified.
