Eagles make change at QB2 against the Rams

The Eagles have hesitated to name a firm backup quarterback through three games this season, and neither Tanner McKee or Andy Dalton did much to earn the spot through the preseason. Still, the team went with Dalton as QB2 for the first three games, and then in Week 3 against the Bears, he had to take the field as Jalen Hurts was evaluated for a concussion. Three plays later, the soon-to-be 39-year-old veteran threw an interception right to a rookie Bears safety in the back of the end zone.
Head coach Nick Sirianni was asked this week if the interception would affect who the backup would be against the Rams in Week 4, and, as usual, he was reluctant to name anyone. Despite not publicly shaming Dalton for the turnover, we learned on Sunday morning that the Eagles are planning to promote Tanner McKee back to QB2 — a spot he's held the past couple seasons.
