With the start of the college football season just weeks away, the Texas Longhorns are already making headlines. On Friday, the Preseason All-SEC Teams were released, and 11 Longhorns are adding to their trophy cases. That list features Arch Manning, Cam Coleman, Trevor Goosby, Ryan Niblett, Colin Simmons, Rasheem Biles, Ryan Wingo, Hollywood Smoothers, Trey Dubuc, Brandon Baker, and Jelani McDonald.

The All-SEC First team includes Niblett, Coleman, Simmons, Goosby, and Biles. On the All-SEC second team, the Longhorns are well-represented with Manning and Dubuc. Rounding out the list are Smoothers, Wingo, Baker, and McDonald, who earned spots on the All-SEC Third team.

For some of the Longhorns' veterans, the conference honors come as no surprise. It marks the second straight year that Goosby, Manning, Simmons and Wingo garnered Preseason All-SEC honors. They are among the best players at their positions in the nation and are coming off highly productive 2025 campaigns.

As the Longhorns look to win a national title, a few players on this list, including Biles and Smoothers, will make their Forty Acres debut in just a few weeks. Smoothers, who was added out of the portal, recorded a career-high 939 rushing yards last season for NC State. He also found the end zone six times while averaging 5.9 yards per carry.

With Smoothers expected to provide a boost to the offense, Biles will be looking to do the same on the other side of the ball. The Columbus native is coming off a junior season in which he set career-highs in total tackles with 100. In three seasons at the University of Pittsburgh, the talented linebacker had 10.5 sacks and three interceptions.

If the Longhorns conference honoress can build on their success from last season, then this roster has a real shot at winning a national title. They are talented on both sides of the ball and will get a boost from one of the best recruiting classes in the country. That is why expectations are high in the Forty Acres as the season opener gets closer by the day.
