Euphrates floods displace thousands as rising waters devastate eastern Syria

Thousands of families have been forced from their homes after the Euphrates River reached its highest level in years, triggering widespread flooding across eastern Syria. Heavy rainfall across Syria and neighboring Turkey caused water levels to surge, overwhelming reservoirs and forcing authorities to release water from dams along the river system.
