F2 enters a new era with its 2027-2029 challenger

Formula 2 has officially unveiled its new car at Monza, which will be used from 2027 to 2029. Featuring redesigned front and rear wings, the new package is aimed at improving close racing while bringing the car more in line with Formula 1's latest design philosophy.

While the 2027 Formula 2 car remains largely based on the current generation introduced in 2024, it features several technical developments. The most significant is the introduction of an on-board starter, made possible by an updated version of the existing Hewland gearbox.
