Final day of training in Madrid
This Friday (10), the 20 referees completed their final day of training at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). Over the last five days, the group underwent physical and cognitive tests and took part in theoretical classes with FIFA instructors on the new rules and procedures aimed at making the game more dynamic and combating time-wasting.
"This immersion is completely different from anything I've experienced in refereeing, especially because I was invited as a referee. I work professionally in Brazil as a VAR, and taking part in this moment as a referee brought me a lot of learning. Some things are very similar to what we have in Brazil, but having the guidance of FIFA instructors brings us many benefits. We're returning to Brazil much stronger as a group, and individually as well, but above all as a group," praised Charly Deretti.
