FireKeepers extends NASCAR Michigan race sponsorship deal
FireKeepers Casino Hotel has extended its partnership with Michigan International Speedway to continue as the title sponsor for the NASCAR Cup Series race, according to a community announcement.
The agreement will keep the FireKeepers Casino 400 name for the race, held at the speedway in Brooklyn.

Casino has been involved for a decade
This will be the 11th year FireKeepers Casino Hotel has been the title sponsor for the race.
FireKeepers Casino Hotel, which opened in 2009, features more than 2,900 slot machines, more than 60 table games, a live poker room, several restaurants and a 2,100-seat event center for concerts and shows, according to the announcement. The hotel has two towers with 443 rooms and a signature restaurant, Nibi, both of which have received Four Diamond ratings.

Last year, Denny Hamlin won the FireKeepers Casino 400. He will attempt to win his fourth Cup Series race at Michigan International Speedway and second in a row. If Hamlin wins, he would join Kevin Harvick and David Pearson as the only drivers in Cup Series history to win four or more times at the track. He will also do a public meet and greet with fans 21 years of age or older at FireKeepers Casino Hotel from 12:15-1:45 p.m. on June 6.
Three Michigan natives will be competing for their first FireKeepers Casino 400 title: Brad Keselowski, Erik Jones and Carson Hocevar. Keselowski, a Rochester native, has won twice at Michigan International Speedway in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, but never at the Cup level. Jones, from Byron, and Hocevar, from Portage, have a collective 15 starts at their home track but have yet to secure a victory, according to the announcement.
The race weekend begins with the ARCA Menards Series Henry Ford Health 200 on June 5, followed by the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series DQS Solutions & Staffing 250 Powered by Precision Vehicle Logistics on June 6. The NASCAR Cup Series will cap off the weekend’s action with the FireKeepers Casino 400 on June 7.
