The New England Patriots had five players recognized by Pro Football Focus as the best players at their position to play in the NFL over the course of the last 20 years.

According to Pro Football Focus’ Nathan Jahnke, Tom Brady headlined the former Patriots players named to the All-PFF team on Monday with a first-team nod, which also included Antonio Brown and Darrelle Revis as first-team honorees, as well as Rob Gronkowski and Devin McCourty as second-team honorees.

“Most consider Tom Brady the greatest quarterback of all time, and he was also the best quarterback in this methodology,” Jahnke said. “Brady was the top quarterback of the last 20 seasons at avoiding mistakes. His 2.0% turnover-worthy play rate was the lowest of the 101 quarterbacks with at least 1,000 dropbacks.”

Brady won six Super Bowls with New England and seven total in his career. He defined the era with his winning plays, precision in the pocket and clutch performances. Brady finished his career as the NFL’s all-time leader in passing yards (89,214), as well as passing touchdowns (649).

Brown only played a total of one game for the Patriots in the 2019 season. However, his excellence at the wide receiver position throughout his career was recognized with four first-team All-Pro nods and one second-team All-Pro nod in his career.

Revis only spent one of his 11 seasons in the league with the Patriots in 2014. However, he was regarded as the best cornerback in the league throughout most of his career and was a four-time first-team All-Pro honoree, which helped him earn placement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Gronkowski became the preeminent tight end in the league over the course of his 11-year career in the NFL. He won four Super Bowls, including three with New England, and he was named a first-team All-Pro honoree four times in his career.

McCourty played all 13 seasons of his career for the Patriots, having been named a second-team All-Pro as a cornerback in his rookie season in 2010, as well as at safety in 2013 and again in 2016. He helped New England win three Super Bowls and earned placement at the safety slot on PFF’s All-Star team.
