Detectives investigating an explosion in Monaco which left several people seriously injured, are searching for a Ukrainian woman resident in Germany.

Contrary to initial reports, the suspect is a woman and not a man, said Morgan Raymon from the Monaco Public Prosecutor's Office on Friday.

The woman is in her thirties, and her last known place of residence is in Germany. The suspect, who had been disguised as a man, is wanted on an international arrest warrant.

On Monday evening, there was an explosion at the entrance to a residential building in Monaco which seriously injured three people.

It has been reported that a person had previously left a parcel there before fleeing the scene. Investigations are under way into attempted murder and an explosives' offence.

Investigators believe the suspect did not act alone, and arrested two men. However, as they were not thought to have been actively involved in the crime, and were later released.

The public prosecutor's office has not disclosed the identities of the victims. However, according to media reports in Monaco, France and Ukraine, the victims are believed to be a Ukrainian oligarch, his wife and one of the couple's sons.
