Green Bay’s Problems Point to Coaching

After Week 4's game in Tampa, the Green Bay Packers will be nearly a quarter of the way through their 2026 campaign. There were legitimate reasons for optimism entering the season, with Jordan Love entering the prime of his career and Micah Parsons returning from a devastating injury. However, those expectations have already taken a serious hit just three weeks into the season. At this point, Packers fans are left dissecting what the coaching staff and front office can do to alleviate some of the embarrassment that has surrounded their favorite team.

Green Bay's Problems Point to Coaching

Coaching matters in every sport, but especially in the NFL. Discipline, preparation, and execution ultimately fall back on the coaching staff, and Green Bay's struggles in those areas are showing up in the box score. The Packers lead the NFL in both penalties called against them (32) and penalty yardage (276). On top of that, the Packers' rushing offense has not been this bad since 1933. If Green Bay cannot figure out how to run the football, the offense will continue to struggle on third down and spend far too little time with the ball, which puts even more pressure on a defense that is already being asked to do too much.
