The Gulf states of Bahrain and Kuwait reported new missile threats overnight after renewed escalation in the conflict involving Iran.

Kuwait's military said early on Monday that it had engaged hostile aerial targets, while Bahrain's Interior Ministry said air raid sirens sounded overnight and urged residents to remain calm and seek shelter.

Jordan's state news agency Petra reported that four missiles fired from Iran had been intercepted on Monday morning. It said there were no casualties or damage, citing a military source.

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) said they had targeted a US mobile rocket artillery system in Kuwait, fuel tanks and ammunition depots at Prince Hassan Air Base in Jordan and a command centre at the Sheikh Isa US military base in Bahrain in response to the latest US strikes.

The claims could not be independently verified.

The US military had carried out its fourth wave of strikes on Iran within a week overnight, with dozens of targets at multiple locations hit, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
