Henri Veesaar's contract with Atlanta Hawks revealed

A few former North Carolina Tar Heels found new homes in the NBA following the 2026 draft a few weeks back.

Among them is former UNC center Henri Veesaar. While he was projected to be a late first-round pick by many experts, Veesaar fell to the second round and landed with the Atlanta Hawks. Veesaar faced criticism due to his fall with many believing he should have just stayed at North Carolina and entered next year's draft, which is considered weaker.

But we are past that now and Veesaar has officially signed his contract with the details now being released.

Per Kevin O'Connor, Veesaar has signed a four-year deal worth $9.3 million with the Hawks. He was the 52nd overall pick in the draft and as O'Connor mentions, the deal is structured like the 31st, 32nd and 35th picks in last year’s draft.

While Veesaar fell to the second round, he still gets a nice contract from the Hawks. That could have been a reason why he stayed in the draft, getting a promise and a contract that suits him well.
