UFC Flyweights Alessandro Costa vs. Cody Durden squared off earlier tonight (Sat., July 11, 2026) at UFC 329 LIVE on Paramount+ from inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. In a stellar performance on short-notice, Costa rocked and strangled Durden in the second round.

Durden started the fight well, moving his feet and timing the Brazilian with good combinations. He feinted well and found a few uppercut connections, but Costa kept on the pressure. Very much looking like his cornerman, Diego Lopes, Costa hulked his way forward and started unleashing combinations. In the final minute of the round, he did real damage with b0dy-head combos, opening up a cut above Durden’s eye.

Durden again started the second well with good movement and strikes, but he was clearly a little fatigued from the onslaught. When he slipped throwing a high kick, Costa moved into top position and showcased lovely jiu-jitsu moving through the guard and onto the back. A moment later, he locked in the strangle and forced the tap.

Checkout the video highlights below:

With this victory, Costa has now won three in a row all via finish, bringing his total UFC record to 5-3. He’s likely knocking on the door of a ranked opponent next, and the all-action Flyweight should be hitting his prime now at just 30 years of age.
