Hocevar Leads Spire Motorsports to a Strong Qualifying Run
Spire Motorsports will have a powerful presence at the front of the field for tomorrow’s Brickyard 400, as all three of the organization’s entries qualified inside the top six at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Carson Hocevar led the way in a dominant qualifying performance, securing third career pole postion with a lap of 48.232 seconds. The result gives Spire Motorsports its best possible starting spot heading into one of NASCAR’s biggest races of the season.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDaniel Suarez followed closely behind, qualifying second with a time of 48.288 seconds. Suarez missed the pole by just 0.056 seconds. Michael McDowell completed an impressive qualifying day for the organization by securing sixth place with a lap of 48.449 seconds. McDowell was just 0.217 seconds behind Hocevar’s pole-winning time.
With Hocevar starting from the pole, Suarez alongside him and McDowell lurking in sixth, Spire Motorsports will have three cars positioned to make an immediate impact in the Brickyard 400.
The top five will feature Hocevar, Suarez, Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs and Denny Hamlin, while McDowell will start sixth. Corey Heim, Alex Bowman, AJ Allmendinger and Kyle Larson rounded out the top 10.
