Indiana Pacers Make Micah Potter Contract Decision
Ben CooperThu, Jul 9, 2026·2 min readThe Indiana Pacers are waiving center Micah Potter to make room to sign Larry Nance Jr. to a contract. Potter was set to make $2.8 million on his contract after a solid year for the Pacers in the 2025-26 season.
The 28-year-old center appeared in 47 games, averaging 9.7 points, five rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 42.3 percent from three.

Nance Jr. appeared in 35 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2025-26 season, averaging 3.7 points, 2.7 rebounds, and an assist per game, shooting 41.9 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from behind the arc.
The 33-year-old is a versatile defender who can be a small-ball five for the Pacers or play power forward. On offense, he can still play above the rim as a lob threat and has been a solid three-point shooter.
While Nance Jr. struggled from distance in the 2025-26 season, he shot efficiently the two years prior, shooting 41.5 percent in the 2023-24 season and 44.7 percent in the 2024-25 season.

In the 2025-26 season, Huff appeared in 82 games for the Pacers, averaging 9.5 points, four rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game, shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 31.9 percent from deep.
Between Nance Jr. and Huff, Indiana has versatility off the bench behind newly acquired center Ivica Zubac.
Zubac was the Pacers' trade-deadline acquisition and will be the long-term starting center alongside star guard Tyrese Haliburton.
Zubac played in 48 games in the 2025-26 season, averaging 14.1 points, 10.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, shooting 59.8 percent from the floor. He will be a lob threat, rim protector, and rebounder for Haliburton and Indiana.
