The Brendan Sorsby saga took another turn on Monday.

Sorsby, Texas Tech's transfer quarterback, has been under fire since admitting he's placed over 9,000 sports bets over the past four years. Those bets included Hoosier football games while he was on the Indiana roster. After transferring to the Red Raiders from Cincinnati this offseason, he was ruled ineligible by the NCAA for gambling.

It's been a messy, back-and-forth affair as Sorsby's fought for his eligibility. And on Monday, news broke that shook the college football world.

Sorsby received an injunction from a judge in Lubbock, Texas (where Texas Tech's campus is located) that grants him eligibility for the 2026 season. As of now, he'll be able to suit up for all of next season's games after serving a two-game suspension.

That news riled up a lot of fans, including the Iowa faithful. The Hawkeyes dealt with a gambling situation a few years ago. Defensive lineman Noah Shannon admitted to placing one bet on the Iowa women's basketball team during their 2023 NCAA Tournament run. The NCAA ruled him ineligible for his senior season. He missed out on one more season with his teammates and a potential NFL career for placing bets on a team he had no affiliation with.

Contrasting that with the Sorsby situation had a lot of Iowa fans heated on social media. Here are some of the best reactions.
