Roster locks: Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez, LeQuint Allen
It feels like I'm almost being too presumptive to have what is likely the entire position group on the 53-man roster in the lock category, but that seems to be where we stand. Tuten is the favorite to be RB1, while Rodriguez is also expected to see steady work out of the backfield. Allen proved to be extremely valuable on passing downs in pass protection. He's also been a contributor on special teams.
All three backs will factor into what should be a relatively heavy rotation this season.

This is the big question that will ultimately play a key role in determining what the 53-man roster looks like at this position. Most teams roster three running backs, and if the Jaguars do that this season, then this room is pretty well set.
That said, last year, we did see Jacksonville carry a fourth running back for much of the year, which perhaps leaves the door open for the Jaguars to do so again. Can one of Dallas, Abdullah, or Taylor perform at a level this summer that forces GM James Gladstone to again keep an extra back?
Predicting the Jaguars' 53-man roster at running back before training camp
Bhayshul Tuten, Chris Rodriguez, LeQuint Allen

By keeping four, that requires Jacksonville to go lighter at another position group. And as we saw last season, having four running backs on the roster doesn't mean that all four are active on Sundays. That fourth back is more likely than not going to be inactive on game days. So, in short, I think that roster spot can be better utilized elsewhere.

Jaguars' running backs on the roster
With training camp drawing closer for the Jacksonville Jaguars, we typically put together a 53-man roster prediction beforehand based on what we learned during offseason programs.
We will still be doing that, but the format will be different. Rather than cramming every position group into one article, we'll devote an entire article to each unit before compiling our predictions at the end.
