When James Vowles took the reins at Williams, his overarching message to the Formula 1 paddock and the fanbase was simple: trust the process. Fast forward to the middle of the 2026 season, and that process appears to have completely stalled.
Despite Vowles' ambitious promises of a development roadmap culminating in an "almost entirely new car" for the upcoming Azerbaijan Grand Prix, the morale inside the Williams garage has hit rock bottom. Following Carlos Sainz's recent comments writing off the Baku upgrades and urging the team to focus on 2027, Alex Albon has now echoed that exact same skepticism, exposing a dire situation at Grove.
