John Calipari headlines Memphis Sports Hall of Fame

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The 2026 Memphis Sports Hall of Fame class entered enshrinement in front of a sellout of 500 people Wednesday night at the Renasant Convention Center.

The class was headlined by former Memphis Tigers' head coach John Calipari who coached the team from 2000 to 2009 and is the all-time winningnest coach in Memphis basketball history, winning more than 78 percent of the games he coached. In Coach Cal's nine seasons, the Tigers won seven regular-season titles and finished runner-up to the Kansas JayHawks in 2008.
