Josh Allen Wants To Be An Olympian In 2028

Josh Allen says it would be a dream to be an Olympic athlete.

With the Olympics adding Flag Football to the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles, many NFL players have made it known that they'd like to be part of the team representing the United States.

You can add Allen to that list.

Speaking with NBC New York recently, the 30-year-old franchise quarterback of the Buffalo Bills said winning a gold medal is a dream he's "always had".

The former three-sport athlete played both basketball and baseball in high school, two sports that have regularly been represented at the Olympic Games. Allen ultimately stuck with football---a choice that Bills and football fans are certainly happy with---meaning he "never had the chance" to live out the dream.

The NFL is allowing league players to participate in the upcoming games, meaning Allen now has that chance.

“I would sign up tomorrow to be on the team,” Allen told the outlet. “I've always dreamed of competing for my country and being able to wear my own gold medal, but we'll see how it works."

With the Olympics just over two years away, USA Football is already working on its plan for the roster. Will it be primarily NFL athletes, or will USA Football focus on players who've played flag football for years?

For Allen, he doesn't know what to expect and is keeping things realistic.

"I don't know if they'd want me," he said. "I don't know the ins-and-outs really of flag football. I watched that deal, maybe a couple months ago, and it was a much different game than I thought it would be. But I do think that if there is a potential space, I would love to do it."
