Kris Bubic trade grades: How Dodgers, Royals fared in deal

After landing back-to-back Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal in the biggest trade of the summer, Los Angeles Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman sat at the podium and was mum on whether he'd continue to add to the big league roster in the final 24 hours ahead of the deadline.

"Less likely," he said at the time. "I think coming into this deadline again, our mindset was we're going to be really aggressive for one player. If that player doesn't get moved, if that player goes somewhere else, it's a different mindset. ... You never say never, but fortunately we don't have that acute need where it's, 'you have to do this or our team is in real danger.'"
